Born in Sancti Spíritus, Cuba, Iris is a powerful and soul-stirring vocalist whose artistry draws from the deep well of Cuban musical tradition. A graduate of Cuba’s prestigious National School of the Arts (Escuela Nacional de Arte), she has become a sought-after collaborator for projects seeking authenticity, passion, and a sound rooted in Afro-Cuban heritage.

Iris has contributed her unmistakable voice to multiple acclaimed albums, including the double GRAMMY-winning Ahora Sí by Israel “Cachao” López, Cuba Linda by Andy Garcia, and El Bongo de Van Gogh by Grupo Tolu (Justo Almario and Alex Acuña). Her voice has echoed through major venues like The Geffen Playhouse and LACMA, and lit up stages at Calle Ocho, San Jose Jazz Festival, and the Oxnard Salsa Festival.

In film and television, Iris’s voice has graced soundtracks like Original Sin (starring Antonio Banderas and Angelina Jolie) and The Lost City (directed by Andy Garcia). She also appeared on the CBS drama Cane, performing the timeless Cuban bolero “Veinte Años.”
